Terms of Service
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement under Indian law. VoicePay is intended for business / merchant use on Android devices you control. Owner Mode is for the merchant who operates the listening phone. Counter devices must be used only with that merchant’s permission.
2. The VoicePay service
VoicePay is one Android app with three roles you choose in the app:
- Personal: With Notification Access enabled and Listening ON, VoicePay may parse inbound UPI credit notifications on that phone and announce them using device Text-to-Speech. History, totals, search, and CSV export stay on that device unless you share an export.
- Owner (Business): The same listening phone can map payment apps to shops and send mapped credits to paired counter phones. An Owner may add any number of shops under one business. Owner announcement on that phone is off by default.
- Counter: A shop phone that receives mapped credits from the Owner and announces them. Counters do not listen to UPI apps and do not pay a license fee.
- Supported wallet apps may change over time; currently focused on major India UPI apps installed on the Owner / Personal device.
- If VoicePay cannot map a payment to a shop, it is left Unassigned and is not sent to a counter.
- We may change features, supported apps, or availability as we improve the product.
3. Trial and licenses
- New installs receive a free trial (currently 5 days from first open, or as shown in the app).
- After the trial, announcement features require a Google Play license for that role:
- Personal license — currently ₹99 for 1 year (Play product
voicepay_license_1year, or the amount shown in the app). Unlocks Personal Mode only. It does not unlock Owner Mode. - Business license — currently ₹499 for 1 year (Play product
voicepay_business_1year, or the amount shown in the app). Required for Owner Mode. A valid Business license also covers Personal Mode on that install. Shop counters stay free. - License payments are processed by Google Play Billing. Taxes may apply as shown at checkout.
- The license unlocks VoicePay features on that device install; it is not a bank product and does not include UPI settlement services.
- Fees may change for new purchases; the in-app price at payment time controls.
- Google Play refunds, if any, follow Google’s policies.
4. Owner Mode and counters
- Owner Mode needs internet and a Firebase-backed VoicePay Business account (owner email and password you create in the app).
- One Owner login is tied to one business. Shops and counters belong to that business.
- You pair a counter with a short-lived one-time code. You may revoke a counter device in the app; after revoke it must not receive further payments.
- You are responsible for who you pair, which payment apps you map to which shop, and for keeping Owner credentials secret.
- Counter use is included with a valid Owner Business license. Counters must not be used to monitor devices or notifications you do not control.
5. Your responsibilities
- Grant only the permissions needed and keep Android Notification Access limited to trusted apps.
- Do not use VoicePay to attempt unauthorized access to anyone else’s notifications or devices.
- Verify important payments in the original UPI app / bank statement — VoicePay is an aid, not a ledger of record for tax or disputes unless you separately maintain proper books.
- Export and back up data if you need longer retention than the on-device policy.
6. Accuracy and limitations
Announcements depend on the wording and timing of third-party UPI notifications, OEM battery restrictions, device TTS voices, and — in Owner / Counter Mode — internet, Firebase, and push delivery (FCM). Push is a wake-up signal only; it is not proof of payment. We do not guarantee that every payment will be detected, parsed correctly, delivered to a counter, or announced (for example silent modes, missing Notification Access, changed wallet copy, unmapped sources, revoked devices, or outbound/debit notifications which VoicePay tries to ignore).
7. Third-party services
UPI apps, Android, Google Play (including Google Play Billing), and Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Cloud Messaging used for Owner / Counter) are independent services with their own terms. SSquare is not responsible for outages or policy changes of those providers.
8. Disclaimers
VoicePay is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted service, perfect parsing accuracy, guaranteed counter delivery, or fitness for a particular accounting/tax purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SSquare is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, missed announcements, mis-parsed amounts, failed counter delivery, or business losses arising from reliance on VoicePay alone. Our aggregate liability related to VoicePay for any claim shall not exceed the license fees you paid to us for VoicePay in the twelve months before the claim (or ₹500 if none).
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend license activation, Owner accounts, or distribution if required for security, abuse, or legal reasons. You may stop using VoicePay at any time by uninstalling the app. Revoking a counter ends that device’s access.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of information is described in the VoicePay Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable consumer protections that apply to you.
