Terms of Service
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to work or hire in India. By creating an account, you confirm the information you provide is accurate.
2. The Velai service
- Employers may post short local jobs and review workers who accept.
- Workers may browse nearby open jobs and accept work they can perform.
- Contact details for calling are shared according to the in-app matching rules (typically after acceptance/confirmation).
- We may change features, limits, or availability as we improve the product.
3. Platform fees
- Posting is free until the employer has completed five jobs on Velai. Expired or cancelled posts do not count toward this allowance.
- After five completed jobs, a platform posting fee (currently ₹19 per new post, or as shown in the app) is charged via Razorpay before the job goes live.
- This fee is for using the Velai platform. It is separate from wages paid to workers.
- Worker compensation is agreed and settled directly between employer and worker (for example cash or UPI). Velai does not currently escrow or payroll those wages.
- Fees may change; the amount shown in the app at payment time controls.
4. User responsibilities
- Post only lawful work. No illegal, unsafe, discriminatory, or fraudulent jobs.
- Do not misuse phone numbers, spam users, or harass others.
- Arrive/perform work as agreed, or cancel promptly in the app when you cannot proceed.
- Pay workers the amount you agreed for completed work.
- Keep your phone secure; do not share OTP codes.
5. No employment relationship
Workers using Velai are independent providers relative to SSquare. Any employment, contract labour, tax, or statutory obligations between employer and worker are solely between those parties.
6. Ratings and content
You may leave ratings/feedback related to completed jobs. Do not post false, defamatory, or abusive content. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Disclaimers
Velai is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, that a suitable worker or employer will be found, or the quality, safety, or legality of any offline work arranged through the app. You use the platform and engage other users at your own risk, subject to applicable law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SSquare is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes, injuries, losses, or unpaid wages arising between employers and workers. Our aggregate liability related to Velai for any claim shall not exceed the platform fees you paid to us for the job post giving rise to the claim in the preceding three months (or ₹500 if none).
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the platform, or create risk for other users. You may stop using Velai at any time and may request account deletion by contacting us.
10. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Velai Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable consumer protections that apply to you.
